A Better Way to Worry

Style Frame

2024

This project is a visual interpretation of a podcast discussing anxiety. Anxiety often brings discomfort, but it serves as a natural mechanism, pushing us to take action and prepare for potential challenges. By prompting us to act, anxiety ultimately dissipates once the necessary steps are taken.

For this style frame, I chose an illustrative approach to convey the concept. The personal and private nature of anxiety resonates deeply with individuals, and illustration allows for greater imagination and emotional connection. This visual style invites the audience to engage with the topic in a more intimate and reflective way.

And that's why anxiety has to be uncomfortable. Not
only do we have to sit up and pay attention to it, but
there's what's called a negative reinforcement cycle in
anxiety too. When we tune into anxiety, it's priming us to
prepare, to focus. Once we're on the right track, once
we're in the conversation or maybe we've done a little
preparation ahead of time, anxiety naturally diminishes.
